It should also be noted here that H1-B recipients as I understand from a friend of mine who had one are at the mercy of the employer. As any future employment with another firm would involve an expensive lawyer intensive process. My friend was of course underpaid.

In its current form-against. Because it allows the above and becuse recipients of the visa are at the mercy of the company and are thus frequently underpaid.
